Dyskusja i wymiana poglądów

Last Saturday the long-awaited Polish-German project “Think globally, act locally” took place. During this meeting we deepened our knowledge in the field of relations and communication between Poland and Germany. The expert invited by us, Dr. Erik Malchow, presented us an interesting history of both countries, pointed out what unites us and what still divides us. Together with him we discovered which values are important in Germany and which in Poland. We discussed important topics such as stereotypes and prejudices, but also learned how to have constructive discussions and how important diplomatic language is in international communication.

Discussion and exchange

In the second part of the workshop we talked about the consequences of individual stories and how to avoid them. Our meeting ended with a discussion and a joint exchange of views. 13 people from Poland and Germany took part in the project. We hope that for the participants it was a beautiful, but also educational journey through history, stereotypes, common features and cooperation of the neighbouring countries – the answer of a German participant to the question of what she will take with her from the workshop makes us optimistic: “I am taking with me the encouragement to learn Polish.”

This event was sponsored by the German-Polish Youth Office (GPYO).
